What is citrulline?

White crystal or crystal powder, easily soluble in water, difficult to dissolve in methanol and ethanol. It can be precipitated from its concentrated solution by phosphotungstic acid and react with concentrated alkaline solution to produce ornithine, carbon dioxide, and ammonia.
