Moxidectin

Moxidectin is a macrocyclic lactone endectocide belonging to the milbemycin family, produced by fermentation of Streptomyces cyanogriseus and modified semisynthetically. Its unique methoxime group at C23 and olefinic side chain at C25 confer a longer plasma half-life and broader spectrum of activity compared to avermectins. We supply moxidectin as a white to off-white powder, ≥98% purity by HPLC, suitable for veterinary pharmaceutical formulations and R&D use.

The compound acts by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels in nematodes and arthropods, causing paralysis and death. Its high lipophilicity ensures excellent tissue distribution and persistent efficacy, making it a preferred choice for monthly heartworm preventives and treatment of parasitic infections in livestock and companion animals.
