Phloretin

Phloretin (CAS 60-82-2) is a dihydrochalcone flavonoid predominantly isolated from the root bark of apple trees (Malus spp.) and, to a lesser extent, from pear and other Rosaceae species. It is a natural polyphenol with a unique molecular structure — a chalcone core with two hydroxyl groups — that underlies its well-documented antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and tyrosinase-inhibitory activities. Our phloretin is supplied as a high-purity crystalline powder (≥98% by HPLC), suitable for cosmetic, nutraceutical, and pharmaceutical research and development.

In formulation, phloretin is valued for its ability to inhibit melanin synthesis and its protective effects against UV-induced oxidative stress, making it a common active ingredient in skin-lightening and anti-aging products.
