Doramectin

Doramectin is a macrocyclic lactone endectocide, a derivative of avermectin with a unique cyclohexyl group at the C25 position. This structural modification confers enhanced lipophilicity and a longer plasma half-life compared to ivermectin, translating into sustained efficacy against a broad spectrum of internal and external parasites. It is produced by fermentation of Streptomyces avermitilis, followed by purification to a white crystalline powder with a typical assay of ≥95% (HPLC).

Primarily used in veterinary medicine, doramectin is a key active ingredient in injectable and pour-on formulations for cattle, swine, and sheep. Its activity covers gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, grubs, and mange mites, making it a reliable choice for parasite control programs.
