Shikimic Acid

Shikimic acid (CAS 138-59-0) is a naturally occurring cyclohexene carbocyclic acid, isolated primarily from the dried fruits of Illicium verum (star anise) and other plant sources. It serves as a key chiral building block in organic synthesis and a precursor for the production of the antiviral drug oseltamivir phosphate (Tamiflu). This product is purified via multiple crystallization steps to a minimum of 98% purity by HPLC, meeting the requirements for pharmaceutical and research applications.
