It is rich in oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC), a class of bioflavonoid compounds consisting of monomeric, dimeric, and oligomeric flavan-3-ols. These compounds are characterized by their high degree of polymerization and potent free radical scavenging activity.

The OPC content at ≥95% represents one of the highest purity grades available in the botanical extract market. Proanthocyanidins are distinguished from other flavonoids by their ability to bind and cross-link proteins, which underpins their unique bioactivities, including collagen stabilization, capillary integrity enhancement, and enzyme inhibition (e.g., elastase and hyaluronidase).
