Abamectin

Abamectin (CAS 71751-41-2) is a macrocyclic lactone insecticide and acaricide derived from the soil bacterium Streptomyces avermitilis. It consists of two closely related homologues, B1a and B1b, with B1a typically comprising at least 90%. The compound disrupts neurotransmission in target pests by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels, causing paralysis and death. Its high potency and favorable environmental profile make it a cornerstone in crop protection and veterinary applications.
