Stachyose is a tetrasaccharide naturally occurring in plants such as Stachys species, soybean, and Chinese artichoke. We supply it as a white to off-white crystalline powder with ≥98% purity (HPLC), designed for use in prebiotic and gut-health formulations. Its chemical structure—two α-galactose units linked to sucrose—confers resistance to human digestive enzymes, allowing it to reach the colon intact where it selectively feeds beneficial bifidobacteria.
With a molecular formula of C24H42O21 and a molecular weight of 666.58, stachyose offers a clean, slightly sweet taste and excellent solubility in water. It is ideal for food, beverage, and dietary supplement applications where a natural, non-digestible oligosaccharide is required. Each batch is accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS).
Synonymes : Stachyose hydrate, α-D-Glucopyranoside, β-D-fructofuranosyl-α-D-galactopyranosyl-(1→6)-α-D-galactopyranoside, Lupinose, Manninotriose sucrose, D-Stachyose
Every batch is tested for assay (HPLC ≥98%), loss on drying (≤3.0%), and heavy metals (≤10 ppm). Full COA, MSDS, and TDS are available on request; stability data can be provided for qualification purposes.
