Mebendazole

Mebendazole (CAS 31431-39-7) is a synthetic benzimidazole anthelmintic, structurally related to albendazole and fenbendazole, but with a distinct carbamate ester moiety. It is listed on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines and is widely used in human medicine to treat intestinal nematode infections such as pinworm, roundworm, hookworm, and whipworm. Our material is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder with ≥99% HPLC purity, meeting the requirements for oral solid dosage forms including tablets and suspensions.

The drug acts by binding to parasite tubulin, inhibiting microtubule polymerization and blocking glucose uptake, which leads to glycogen depletion and energy disruption. This mechanism is selective for parasitic cells, making it a well-tolerated therapy.
