Nitazoxanide

Nitazoxanide (CAS 55981-09-4) is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic agent originally developed for treating protozoan infections, now recognized for its activity against anaerobic bacteria and certain viruses. The compound is a thiazolide derivative, supplied as a high-purity crystalline powder (≥99.0% by HPLC), suitable for pharmaceutical formulation and R&D use.

Its mechanism involves interference with the pyruvate:ferredoxin oxidoreductase (PFOR) enzyme, which is essential for energy metabolism in anaerobic organisms. This makes nitazoxanide a versatile API for antiparasitic and antimicrobial applications.
