Artemisinin

Artemisinin (CAS 63968-64-9) is a sesquiterpene lactone endoperoxide isolated from the aerial parts of Artemisia annua (sweet wormwood). It is the cornerstone of artemisinin-based combination therapies (ACTs) for uncomplicated malaria and remains a key active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) for global health programs. Our product is extracted from cultivated A. annua and purified via a validated solvent-based process to ≥98% HPLC purity, with consistent quality across batches.

This API is supplied as a white crystalline powder with documented physicochemical properties, including a melting point of 156–157 °C and well-defined solubility in ethanol and DMSO. It is intended for use in pharmaceutical formulations, particularly oral solid dosage forms, and for R&D purposes in drug development. Each batch is accompanied by a certificate of analysis (COA) confirming assay, impurities, and residual solvents.
