Geniposide

Geniposide is a naturally occurring iridoid glycoside compound isolated from the fruits of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis (Cape jasmine or gardenia fruit), a traditional medicinal plant widely used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years.

It is one of the primary bioactive constituents of gardenia fruit, alongside crocins and crocetin.

Jingniping glycoside, also known as geniposide or geniposide, is a brown to white crystalline powder with a slight odor and no bitterness.

It is a cyclic ether terpenoid glycoside extracted from the dried and ripe fruit of the madder plant Gardenia, and has a significant effect on promoting bile secretion. And it can reduce bilirubin in the blood and promote rapid excretion of bilirubin in the blood.
