Phytosphingosine

Phytosphingosine (CAS 13552-11-9) is a long-chain sphingoid base, structurally related to sphingosine but with an additional hydroxyl group at C4. It occurs naturally in plant and mammalian tissues, particularly in the stratum corneum, where it contributes to skin barrier integrity. We supply it as a white to off-white crystalline powder with ≥98% purity by HPLC, suitable for skin care, personal care, and research applications.

Due to its antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties, phytosphingosine is widely used in formulations targeting acne, atopic dermatitis, and other skin conditions. It also acts as a ceramide precursor, supporting skin repair and moisture retention.
