Ubiquinol is the reduced, active form of coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), a fat-soluble benzoquinone derivative that plays a central role in cellular energy production. While CoQ10 exists in two forms—ubiquinone (oxidized) and ubiquinol (reduced)—it is ubiquinol that serves as the primary electron carrier in the mitochondrial respiratory chain and as a potent lipid-soluble antioxidant.
