Xanthophyll (CAS 127-40-2) is a naturally occurring carotenoid alcohol, widely distributed in green leafy vegetables, algae, and the petals of marigold flowers. As a key pigment in the macular region of the human retina, it is a primary focus in nutraceutical research for eye health and antioxidant support.
