Neem Extract is a standardized botanical preparation obtained from the leaves, seeds, and bark of Azadirachta indica, a fast-growing evergreen tree native to the Indian subcontinent. Known as “the village pharmacy” in Ayurvedic tradition, neem has been used for centuries to address skin conditions, dental hygiene, and agricultural pests. The extract captures the tree’s complex chemistry in a convenient, water-soluble form.

The primary bioactive constituents are triterpenoids, notably azadirachtin, nimbin, and nimbidin. Azadirachtin is the most studied, acting as an insect growth regulator and feeding deterrent. Nimbin and nimbidin contribute anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. Unlike many single-molecule actives, neem extract delivers a synergistic profile that makes it valuable across pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and agrochemical applications.
