Cycloastragenol is a naturally occurring triterpenoid aglycone derived from the hydrolysis of astragalosides, the saponin constituents of the medicinal plant Astragalus membranaceus (Huang Qi). It belongs to the cycloartane class of triterpenoids and is the primary bioactive metabolite responsible for many of the pharmacological activities attributed to Astragalus root.
Cycloastragenol
Cycloastragenol has attracted significant scientific interest for its role as a telomerase activator. Telomerase is the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length, and its activation is associated with cellular longevity and healthy aging. By upregulating telomerase activity, cycloastragenol supports cellular replication capacity and may delay the onset of age-related cellular senescence.
