Ascorbic acid 2-glucoside is a stabilized derivative of vitamin C, produced by enzymatic transglycosylation of L-ascorbic acid with dextran. It is supplied as a white to off-white crystalline powder with a purity of 99% (HPLC).

The glucose moiety protects the labile enediol group, making the molecule resistant to oxidation and heat – a practical advantage over plain ascorbic acid in formulations where stability is critical.
