Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid (TUDCA) is a hydrophilic bile acid, formed by the conjugation of ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) with the amino acid taurine. It is a naturally occurring bile acid found in small amounts in human bile and is produced by the liver. TUDCA is the taurine-conjugated form of UDCA and is more hydrophilic than its parent compound, which contributes to its unique biological activities.
